Rangers v Hibs injury news: Huge Robin Propper update emerges

Rangers defender Robin Propper holds a small chance of re-injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert has reacted to the blow he suffered to his head in the Europa League clash against Fenerbahce.

However, the fact that he could play half an hour in the 3-2 win over Celtic right after that was certainly a positive.

Propper not yet back to being at a 100 per cent – Doctor

In the thrilling 4-3 win against Dundee at the weekend, the 31-year-old was on the bench but was an unused substitute.

Since the aforementioned game against Celtic, the Dutch centre-back has not featured for the Gers side.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, exclusively told Ibrox News: “If the heavy blow against Fenerbahce led to the concussion protocol and he has cleared it, then the chances of re-injury will be low – that is why the concussion protocol exists.

He did play a little over half an hour in the game after that and has not featured since.

He has made the matchday squad so I’ll say he may not be at 100 per cent but will certainly be close to it.

While he has not been ruled out of the game against Hibs on 5 April at Ibrox, he is not at full fitness ahead of it.

Barry Ferguson unlikely to start Propper for the Rangers clash against Hibs

John Souttar and Leon Balogun are clearly ahead of Propper in Barry Ferguson’s pecking order.

He even started Dujon Sterling over the weekend so that goes a long way towards explaining his thinking process.

While Propper is fit and available for selection, the interim Rangers manager is unlikely to hand him a start for the game on the weekend.
