Rangers ‘must ignore’ Scott Arfield ‘fear’ verdict amid latest transfer news
Scott Arfield has told Rangers supporters that they shouldn’t be opposed to seeing their star players sold this summer.
Rangers have had a horrid season domestically, but Europa League success remains on the cards after their triumph against Fenerbahce earlier this month.
Barry Ferguson has more than played his part in that success, though the lack of quality in certain areas remains obvious at Ibrox.
With the 49ers Enterprises takeover edging closer, this summer will be a huge one for the Light Blues, and they would be making a grave mistake by following the advice of Arfield.

Rangers should be retaining their key talent this summer
Recruitment has been the biggest downfall at Rangers over the past few seasons, alongside the failures from a managerial point of view.
However, several players in that Rangers squad hold significant value not only financially, but also on the pitch.
Nico Raskin has been a standout player for the Light Blues this season, though Arfield has suggested that Rangers should be open to sanctioning his exit.
Competition (2024/25) | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Scottish Premiership | 26 | 1 | 5 |
Europa League | 10 | 1 | 1 |
Scottish Cup | 1 | 0 | 0 |
Scottish League Cup | 2 | 0 | 0 |
Via the Daily Record, Arfield said: ” Rangers shouldn’t fear his departure – they should embrace it as a sign that the club is finally getting things right when it comes to their so-called player-trading model.”
The Beligna has been linked with an exit from Rangers, but if Raskin was to be sold for the £10million mooted by Arfield, that should not be “embraced” and instead, should be frowned upon as a showcase of lacking ambition.

Ferguson will remain fixated on Europa League success
Quite frankly, until the final ball has been kicked, Rangers will not be thinking about any player sales this summer, let alone in regard to the likes of Raskin.
The only focus will be on the pitch, and doing everything in their power to ensure that they don’t end the season without a trophy.
Of course, their ability to do that will hinge on the success they can find via the Europa League, with every other competition now dead and buried.
