Rangers ‘to get next Nico Raskin’ as massive transfer claim made
Nico Raskin has the potential to make Rangers a lot of money if they sanction his transfer at Ibrox in the coming months.
Aston Villa and Leeds United are interested in the midfielder ahead of next summer [TEAMtalk] after his impressive campaign at the Gers.
Raskin recently made his full debut for Belgium and received a standing ovation in their 3-0 win over Ukraine in the Nations League.
The Light Blues could possibly be inundated with offers for the 24-year-old soon, and they have been given recommendations on what should be done.

Ibrox told to get next Raskin as Rangers set for transfer profit
Raskin could make a good profit for the Glaswegian outfit in the upcoming transfer window, Andy Walker says.
The former Scotland international believes the Bears should sell the Belgian national and get the next prospect through the door at Ibrox.
Competition (2024/25) | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Scottish Premiership | 26 | 1 | 5 |
Europa League | 10 | 1 | 1 |
Scottish Cup | 1 | 0 | 0 |
Scottish League Cup | 2 | 0 | 0 |
Walker feels the Gers should sell the 24-year-old for the maximum amount they can get in a potential deal.
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show (27 March), the Scotsman said: “Sometimes you should just sell when you can get a maximum amount. If you can sell [Raskin] for a really good profit, that’s the road Rangers have to go down and just ensure they get the next Raskin through the door.”
Barry Ferguson has made Raskin better at Ibrox
Barry Ferguson has arguably made Raskin better since taking over as interim manager after Philippe Clement’s sacking.
In recent matches, the 24-year-old defensive midfielder has been a pivotal part of the Scotsman’s plans at the Gers.
Celtic were beaten 3-2 at Parkhead by the Bears before the international break, with the Belgian national playing a starring role for the visitors.
Rangers have had to wait to see the best from Raskin after his £1.32million move from Standard Liege in January 2023.
The defensive midfielder struggled to get into Clements’s plans at the Light Blues for several months before making an impact this season.
With the former AS Monaco manager under pressure, he turned to Raskin to provide solidity in the engine room, which was a big turning point for both.
The Ibrox faithful will undoubtedly be disappointed to see the Belgium international leave, but the Bears know they can’t keep their best players forever.
San Francisco 49ers and Andrew Cavenagh will undoubtedly want to turn the Gers’ financial situation around once they complete their takeover.
