Lyall Cameron set for ‘awkward’ Dundee moment v Rangers, absence mooted
Lyall Cameron could potentially face Rangers in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday, with the Dundee midfielder already agreeing a transfer to Ibrox recently.
The Gers wrapped up a pre-contract agreement with the 22-year-old in the winter transfer window.
Cameron could potentially come up against his new team as Barry Ferguson’s side visit Dens Park on 29 March.
Tony Docherty will have a big decision to make regarding his starting lineup, and it’s been suggested the Scottish midfielder could be dropped to the bench by the Dark Blues.

Dundee may not play Cameron against Rangers
Dundee may not play Cameron against Rangers at Dens Park on Saturday, Jamie Murphy says.
The Scotland international, who currently plays for Ayr United, would drop the 22-year-old from the starting lineup if he were the Dee’s manager.

Murphy expects things to get awkward for the midfielder when he comes up against his future Bears teammates.
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show (27 March), the Ayr United ace said: “I’m not sure if I’m the manager I would play [Cameron]. I think when you commit to another team, although you can do well for your own team, if you’re playing that team it does get awkward. Then what do you do?
“He obviously wants to show he’s good enough to play for Rangers. But then you’re thinking, ‘I’m going to be there next summer’. You don’t want to fall out with people on the pitch. So, it maybe holds you back a little bit. There’s a lot of questions to it.”
Cameron professional enough to play against future Ibrox teammates
Cameron’s switch to Ibrox next summer will be an exciting one, considering the potential he’s shown at Dundee this season.
The midfielder has been an essential player for the Dark Blues as they sit 11th in the Scottish Premiership.
Docherty will arguably want his best players to play against the Gers, but that may not be possible as Cameron has picked up an injury at Dens Park.
Rangers have an exciting crop of talent at their disposal, having completed a similar deal for Connor Barron from Aberdeen last summer.
The Light Blues seem to be currently focusing on recruiting young Scottish talent, and the Dundee midfielder ticks that box.
Ferguson’s full focus will be on the Europa League, though, as the Glaswegian outfit have nothing but pride left to play for domestically.
Celtic are 13 points ahead of the Gers in the Scottish Premiership, leaving them with little of catching up in the final stretch of the campaign.
While it would be interesting to see Cameron in action against the Bears, whether he will play remains to be seen.
