Rangers source issues update on major attacker transfer

Rangers are keen on making attacking reinforcements once the transfer window opens this summer.

The Ibrox outfit are currently not at Celtic’s level to compete for the title and will be looking to bridge that gap in the coming.

With the San Francisco 49ers’ data-driven approach, there is hope of a positive window.

Wolfsburg did not want to include a buy option for Vaclav Cerny

Rangers Review reported on 26 March that a source claimed that Wolfsburg did not want to have a buy option included in Gers’ loan deal for Vaclav Cerny.

That is why the 27-year-old was only made available on loan and not on a permanent transfer.

However, this summer, it’s understood that the Bundesliga outfit will be open to parting ways with the Czech Republic international.

Ibrox has been named as a possible destination for the winger, but no agreement has been reached with the two clubs and neither has it gotten to the stage of personal terms.

It is also understood that the competition is expected to be fierce for Cerny in the coming months.

Gers will explore avenues to sign him but it is not a guarantee that he will be arriving at Ibrox.

Rangers must pursue alternatives to Vaclav Cerny to be on the safer side

Gers should consider alternative attackers if Cerny becomes unattainable due to his stellar form and uncertain future.

He has scored 11 league goals this season, attracting interest from multiple clubs, potentially driving his price beyond what Gers may be able to afford.

With a takeover pending, financial constraints may hinder securing him permanently, especially if Wolfsburg anticipates a bidding war.

Relying solely on Cerny risks leaving the Ibrox outfit unprepared if he departs, weakening their attack.

Exploring alternatives from Europe’s lesser leagues ensures depth and continuity, aligning with a data-driven recruitment strategy to maintain competitiveness domestically and in Europe, regardless of Cerny’s status.
