Rangers news: Truth behind Vaclav Cerny permanent transfer revealed

Four Lads Had a Dream have rubbished claims about Rangers attacker Vaclav Cerny.

The Czech Republic international moved to Ibrox in the summer on loan from German club Wolfsburg.

His move to Ibrox has undoubtedly been a success and he’s been a regular starter and has performed consistently for the senior team.

Gers do not have the option to sign Vaclav Cerny for £5.5million

The Daily Record reported on 26 March that Gers have the option to make Cerny’s loan permanent come the end of the season.

They claimed that it would take just £5.5million in order to make that happen.

However, that is not understood to be the truth, according to Four Lads Had a Dream’s Stevie Clifford.

Given his connections at Ibrox, Clifford often is a trusted authority on transfer stories and he’s rubbished the recent Daily Record story.

He’s also stated that it doesn’t mean that Cerny won’t join permanently; it’s just that there is no agreement for a fixed price with Wolfsburg.

Clifford wrote on X: “It’s not correct.”

San Francisco 49ers’ Rangers takeover will be key to Vaclav Cerny’s future

Rangers’ decision to sign Cerny on a permanent deal remains uncertain and will largely depend on the preferences of the club’s next manager.

The 27-year-old, currently on loan from Wolfsburg, has impressed fans, but with no permanent manager in place, any long-term commitment is on hold.

The appointment of a new manager, however, is tied to the ongoing takeover of the club by the San Francisco 49ers, which has yet to be finalised.

Until the ownership situation is resolved, the managerial vacancy will likely persist, delaying key transfer decisions like Cerny’s.

As a result, supporters eager for clarity will have to wait, with no resolution expected in the immediate future as these interconnected issues unfold.

While they would want Cerny to join permanently, the new permanent manager may have different ideas, perhaps someone better that he’d want to bring to Ibrox.
