Rangers new manager: Blockbuster Marco Rose update emerges
Rangers are considering bringing in a new permanent manager once Barry Ferguson’s interim contract comes to an end.
While no decision has yet been made about Ferguson’s future, the club are keeping all options open going into next season.
The San Francisco 49ers are expected to make the decision on the new manager once they finalise their takeover.

RB Leipzig boss Marco Rose will take some convincing to join Rangers
Marco Rose has managed at Ibrox back when he was the Borussia Dortmund manager.
That game ended up 2-2 but Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side managed to get the win in German to progress to the next round of the Europa League.
At the time, the German, who’s won two league titles at RB Salzburg, admitted that he was thrilled with the Ibrox “force” – lauding the Gers supporters.
Trophy | Season/Year | Team |
Austrian Bundesliga | 2017-18 | RB Salzburg |
Austrian Bundesliga | 2018-19 | RB Salzburg |
Austrian Cup | 2018-19 | RB Salzburg |
DFB Pokal | 2022-23 | RB Leipzig |
DFL Supercup | 2023 | RB Leipzig |
Now, his name has been mentioned as a potential candidate to replace Ferguson come the end of the season.
It’s understood that Rangers will need to prove to him that they’re serious about rediscovering their European pedigree if they are to convince the 48-year-old to move to Ibrox, per the Daily Record.
Currently plying his trade at RB Leipzig, Rose is under pressure as his side are at risk of missing out on Champions League qualification.

Marco Rose appears to be a solid appointment for Gers
Rose stands out as the ideal manager for Gers, bringing a blend of tactical brilliance and a track record of turning teams around, which suits the club’s current need to rebound from a faltering domestic season.
His high-intensity, pressing game – refined at RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig – mirrors the energy Rangers fans crave at Ibrox.
Rose’s knack for European success, including standout results against top clubs, aligns with Rangers’ Europa League goals.
His ability to develop talent and work within constraints would optimise a post-takeover budget, offering a fresh, aggressive approach to close the gap with Celtic and restore the club’s stature.
