Barry Ferguson ‘to remain at Rangers’ in huge Ibrox job claim
Rangers have a big decision to make on Barry Ferguson at the end of the season after appointing him as interim manager at Ibrox.
The Gers icon replaced Philippe Clement at the Light Blues after the Belgian head coach failed to get the best out of the team.
Ferguson has brought positivity back to Ibrox after beating Celtic 3-2 at Parkhead in the Old Firm Derby on 16 March.
The Bears have also made it to the quarter-finals of the Europa League after beating Fenerbahce in the last-16, highlighting the difference the interim boss has made.

Rangers should keep Ferguson in any role after season ends
Ferguson should remain at the Glaswegian outfit in any role after the end of the season, Michael Mols says.
The former Gers striker, who played alongside the former Scotland international, believes the interim boss has brought the fighting spirit back to Ibrox.
Competition (2024/25) | Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses |
Scottish Premiership | 3 | 2 | 0 | 1 |
Europa League | 2 | 1 | 0 | 1 |
Mols feels Ferguson knows what it means to be at the Light Blues, and they should keep him in some capacity once his current contract expires.
Speaking to The Scottish Sun (27 March), Mols said: “Now, as a manager, you can see how he is showing the current players what it means to be at Rangers. That has been missing a little bit. To be at Rangers, you need to win every game. You need to give everything, and he has brought that back.
“For me, I would keep him no matter what job or role he is given. He has Rangers DNA. You need people at the club with a blue heart and he has that. He understands everything about the club, and they need to keep him in some kind of capacity.”

Ferguson part of furniture at Ibrox
Ferguson should be in the running at Ibrox to become the next permanent manager after what he has done in recent weeks.
Andrew Cavenagh and 49er Enterprises should consider the Gers icon when deliberating on the next head coach.
The American consortium are in talks to take over at the Light Blues and will undoubtedly want to make changes once they arrive.
If they deem Ferguson isn’t the right man to lead the team, they should still try and keep him at the Bears in a different backroom role.
The Scotsman, along with Billy Dodds, Allan McGregor and Neil McCann, seem to have brought a winning mentality back to Rangers.
Under Clement, the players didn’t look as motivated for certain matches domestically, which led to inconsistent performances.
The Glaswegian outfit’s domestic season has almost ended, as they’ve got nothing left to play for, with Celtic 13 points ahead of them in the Scottish Premiership.
Ferguson has seamlessly fit into the Ibrox dugout and should be part of the new regime, whatever capacity that may be.
