Vaclav Cerny issues ‘buy me plea’ after what he did away from Rangers

Rangers have a decision to make regarding Vaclav Cerny as he nears the end of his loan spell at Ibrox.

Cerny has proved to be a shrewd signing since arriving on a season-long loan from Wolfsburg last summer, bagging 17 goals and seven assists in 44 appearances across all competitions.

Unsurprisingly, this has led to talk about the Ibrox outfit potentially making the Czechia international’s move permanent at the end of the season, with finances being the only concern.

Cerny makes Rangers stance clear away from Ibrox

There is no doubt that Rangers would have to fork out a significant amount of money to buy Cerny, with Wolfsburg wanting £8million for his transfer as of January.

The 27-year-old, meanwhile, has made no secret about his openness to extend his stay at Ibrox beyond this season, as he admitted his willingness to stay earlier this month.

If that was not enough, Cerny has provided further proof of his respect and admiration for Rangers in a classy act away from Glasgow.

Taking to social media after Czechia’s 4-0 win against Gibraltar on Tuesday (25 March), the attacker shared a video of him giving his match-worn shirt to a young opposition fan.

He was seen smiling as he approached a boy wearing a Rangers shirt, asking if he also wanted his signature on his Czechia jersey.

“Rangers, everywhere we follow”, Cerny wrote on Instagram along with a blue heart and handshake emoji.

This is essentially a ‘buy me please’ from the left-footer to Rangers.

49ers cannot ignore Cerny transfer priority

Furthermore, Cerny is also prepared to reject offers from seven other teams to stay at Ibrox.

This is why Rangers cannot ignore the transfer problem involving him anymore.

While the Wolfsburg ace will command a significant transfer fee, he has proven that he is worth every penny already.

The Light Blues may have to hold off making a decision regarding his future until the takeover by the US consortium led by Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe goes through.

However, once that is finalised, signing Cerny on a permanent deal should be one of their top priorities.

There are already suggestions that the consortium involving 49ers Enterprises could actually do that.
