James Tavernier transfer: Rangers ‘exit on cards’ in Ibrox clearout
James Tavernier has been a loyal servant at Rangers, but his future at Ibrox could potentially be affected in the upcoming transfer window.
Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises are in talks to take over at the Gers, which could possibly lead to considerable changes.
Barry Ferguson has taken interim charge at Ibrox after Philippe Clement’s sacking and the former Scotland international’s future will surely be assessed in the coming months.
Tavernier might also find himself out of the new project at the Light Blues after spending a decade at the Glaswegian outfit.

Rangers should consider Tavernier transfer next summer
Mark Guidi says the Bears should sell Tavernier in the upcoming transfer window.
The Scottish journalist would get rid of the 33-year-old as part of the clearout at the Gers next summer.
Guidi feels the right-back’s wages and several other reasons make his exit worth considering at the Light Blues.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show (20 March), the journalist said: “I would perhaps have Tavernier as part of the clearout.
Can you get a fee for him? He’s one of the biggest earners at [Rangers]. I’m not saying you should get rid of him. But it would be something I would be considering for a number of reasons.”
Ibrox will miss Tavernier if transfer materialises next summer
Tavernier has been influential at Rangers but has come under heavy criticism in recent months due to his performances.
Fans have questioned the English defender’s inclusion in the starting lineup this season, leading to talks over his future at the Gers.
Ferguson has continued to rely on the 33-year-old, making him a critical part of his new system that has seen the Light Blues play a back-five.
The Bears beat Celtic 3-2 at Parkhead after a late goal from Hamza Igamane and have also qualified for the Europa League quarter-finals, highlighting the success of the change in tactics by the interim boss.
While some have called for Ferguson’s continuity in the Ibrox dugout beyond the current campaign, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the prospective new owners bring in a new manager.
The Gers have fallen well behind their Old Firm rivals in recent years, and the Americans must make hard decisions if and when they complete their takeover.
Tavernier will be remembered for captaining the Light Blues to their last Scottish Premiership title, but his departure will seemingly be best for both parties.
