Rangers ‘have £6.75m transfer ready to go’ amid no-brainer Barry Ferguson appointment

Rangers could potentially sign Vaclav Cerny after a no-brainer decision on Barry Ferguson at Ibrox.

Wolfsburg want £6.75million for Cerny in the upcoming transfer window to sanction a permanent move for the forward.

The Czechia international joined the Gers on loan from the German outfit last summer and has become a rather key member of the squad.

Cerny has admitted he wants to stay at Ibrox and the Glaswegian outfit have been presented with an opportunity to turn it into reality soon.

Ferguson deserves Rangers top job after what has happened

Ferguson has strengthened his claim at Ibrox after beating Fenerbahce and Celtic in recent weeks.

The Gers icon replaced Philippe Clement temporarily but should now be in the running to be the next permanent manager.

Cerny has been a critical cog to the Light Blues’ success this season, and the interim boss has continued to rely on him in crucial moments.

The 27-year-old’s brace in Turkey helped Rangers get past Jose Mourinho’s team in the last-16 of the Europa League, and he has also made an argument for his continuity beyond this season.

Cerny transfer to be sanctioned after Ferguson appointment

Ferguson’s permanent appointment in the Ibrox dugout has become a no-brainer after Cerny’s desire to keep working under him.

Keith Jackson revealed that the 27-year-old has already spoken with the former Scotland international and would be willing to reject seven to eight offers to remain at the Bears, particularly if the interim manager is handed the reins permanently.

Speaking on Hotline Live, the Daily Record journalist said: “I believe that [Cerny] has spoken to Ferguson. And I believe that he’s trying to find out if Ferguson is going to be the permanent manager because he’s so impressed with him, he likes working with him.

“I think he’s got seven or eight offers already on the table but he would pick Rangers, particularly if Ferguson is going to be the manager.”

Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises are in talks to take control of the Glaswegian outfit and now have another reason to give Ferguson the job once their potential takeover is complete.

If wins over Mourinho and Brendan Rodgers weren’t convincing enough, the fact that the Gers’ best player wants to stay if the former Scotland international does, speaks volumes.

The US consortium will undoubtedly want the Light Blues to be successful, but they will evidently need to keep someone like Cerny to do so.

Ferguson has brought fresh energy to the Bears since his arrival, along with Billy Dodds, Allan McGregor and Neil McCann, and an extension of their contracts should be in order.

Signing the Czech national for £6.75m and keeping the current manager in charge for next season makes perfect sense.
