Rangers ace Hamza Igamane blows away on Morocco duty as source speaks out

Hamza Igamane has had an impressive debut season at Rangers and he seems to be making the same impact on the international stage too.

Since arriving at Ibrox in the summer transfer window, the forward has scored 10 times across 26 Scottish Premiership appearances.

This form earned him a first call-up to the senior Morocco national team, with his side having two games during the international break.

Igamane making international impact

Igamane has got off the mark in the Scottish Premiership quicker than many would have anticipated, and has been a shining light for Rangers in what has been a difficult campaign.

On Sunday (16 March) he was introduced as a substitute from the bench as the Gers took on Celtic and it was Igamane who scored in the 88th minute at Celtic Park to give his side a 3-2 victory

Hamza Igamane for Rangers this season

From an Old Firm derby, it was straight to international duty with Morocco and he is said to be carrying on his strong form overseas.

According to Moroccan outlet Filkora [19 March], a source close to head coach Walid Regragui has claimed that he has been impressed with Igamane in training so far, with the 22-year-old being the highest performing attacking player throughout.

Indeed, Igamane is said to have outperformed big-name stars such as Youssef En-Nesyri and Soufiane Rahimi.

Due to the forward showing the desire to be there, plus the fact he’s performing to his best level, it could put him in with a chance of being picked to start as his side takes on Niger on Friday (21 March).

Rangers to face Igamane battle in the summer

As a result of his strong form throughout the season so far, Igamane has been linked with a move away from Ibrox in the summer transfer window.

Premier League sides including the likes of Newcastle United, Everton and Tottenham have all been linked with Igamane.

Meanwhile, Marseille have also appeared as a potential destination, with Igamane said to be a top priority as they have also caught glimpses of his rise at Ibrox.

With the 49ers Enterprises hoping to complete a takeover of the Light Blues by the time the summer transfer window comes along, this could create plenty of change in regards to the situation.

On top of this, once a permanent Rangers manager is identified and appointed, they will no doubt have an opinion on the matter too.

However, with Igamane gaining international game time and further plaudits, you can imagine that it will only increase the attention surrounding the striker this summer.
