Lennon Miller ‘to pip Nico Raskin at Rangers’ as transfer claim made

Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller could potentially pip Nico Raskin at Rangers as a fresh transfer claim has been made.

The 18-year-old has been a revelation in the Scottish Premiership this season and has caught the attention of several top clubs.

Miller has been linked with a move to Ibrox, but Celtic are also in the running to acquire his signature ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Gers have already secured the signing of Lyall Cameron from Dundee and have been told another Scottish prodigy would strengthen their squad.

Rangers starts guaranteed for Miller after transfer

Miller will be guaranteed starts if he moves to the Light Blues from Motherwell next summer, Richard Foster says.

The ex-Gers defender believes the 18-year-old is good enough to be in the Bears’ starting lineup ahead of Connor Barron and Raskin.

While Foster feels the Scottish midfielder would get regular minutes at Ibrox, he wants to see the youngster move abroad.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show (19 March), the 39-year-old said: “At Rangers right now, I think [Miller] plays. I think he goes into the team and plays, no problem. No disrespect to Barron or Raskin. I think Miller plays in that team. But I would like to see him… possibly going abroad.”

Ibrox move unlikely for Miller

Miller is unlikely to move to Ibrox in the upcoming transfer window, considering the host of teams eyeing his signature.

Celtic are a much more tempting destination in Scotland at the moment due to their success over the years, with the gap between the two Old Firm rivals increasing every year.

It would be surprising to see the 18-year-old, who has been called up to the Scotland national team’s senior squad for the Nations League ties, opt for the Light Blues as his next destination.

The Motherwell midfielder has caught many people’s attention and the Bears would potentially have to make an offer both the player and club can’t refuse to complete a deal.

While Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises may boost funds at Ibrox after completing their potential takeover, it feels unlikely that they will spend recklessly.

The Americans have been cautious with their money at Leeds United, and there’s no indication that approach will change at the Glaswegian outfit.

It would be a massive coup for the Gers if they managed to sign Miller, but it looks like an unrealistic prospect.
