Rangers welcomed away fans back to the Old Firm with a huge win over Celtic at Parkhead on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from Nicolas Raskin, Mohamed Diomande and Hamza Igamane secured a 3-2 win for Barry Ferguson, as he pushes for the permanent role at Ibrox.

It wasn't all plain sailing though, with Vaclav Cerny missing a chance to make things more comfortable, and he could now face retrospective action from the Scottish FA.

Scottish FA could ban Cerny at Rangers

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, the ex-FIFA official admitted that the SFA will need sufficient evidence to prove it was a deliberate action first.

"That is a stupid thing to do and certainly the authorities will look into that," Hackett said.

"This is really no different than throwing an object at a spectator.

"His act should result in a ban if the authorities have sufficient evidence to prove his actions were deliberate and not accidental."

Ferguson flying at Ibrox

With calls for Ferguson to already get the permanent role at Rangers as early as Monday, he will be loving what he has seen in the last week.

After emptying the tank to get past Fenerbahce in the Europa League after extra time and penalties, a near-identical Rangers side strolled into Parkhead and beat Celtic.

As for Cerny, as long as he isn't punished, Ferguson will love rewatching that footage.

The Czech international has the break to wait for a decision to be made now, but could return to Ibrox with a seat on the sideline waiting for him ahead of the season's end.

Cerny has been sensational during his loan move from Wolfsburg, and with the expectation he will move on, the impending takeover could see a huge push made to keep him around in Govan.

After experiencing similar heartbreak with Abdallah Sima last season, who has been in the Champions League since, Cerny has to be signed if there is any ambition.
