Michael Ball shares explosive reaction to Rangers last-minute win v Celtic

Michael Ball has shared his explosive reaction as Rangers beat Celtic 3-2 in the Scottish Premiership with a late goal from Hamza Igamane.

The Gers won the Old Firm derby as Barry Ferguson got the better of Brendan Rodgers at Parkhead on 16 March.

Nicolas Raskin and Mohamed Diomande scored in the first half, but the Light Blues should arguably have had a three-goal lead going into the break as Vaclav Cerny failed to pounce on Kasper Schmeichel’s error.

Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate equalised for the Hoops, but Igamane was on hand to secure the three points with a brilliant strike in the 88th minute.

While it looked like the Hoops had robbed a point after the Gers took a two-goal lead and dominated Celtic in the first half, Igamane had other ideas.

Ferguson’s team are still several points behind the Hoops in the Scottish Premiership, but they showed their pride away from home on Sunday.

Ferguson ecstatic after win v Celtic

Tensions were already high before kickoff, as some Rangers fans were denied entry at Parkhead.

Chris Sutton had predicted an emphatic victory for Celtic, but the former striker’s claim fell flat on its face after the Gers dominated the proceedings in the opening 45 minutes.

While the Hoops came out strong after the break, the visitors showed resilience and got the job done in the dying minutes.

Ferguson would arguably have been frustrated that the Light Blues let their Old Firm rivals back into the game, but the end result is what matters.

The Bears might not have much to play for domestically, but their pride was on the line at Parkhead, and they ensured the travelling supporters went home with their heads held high.

With Celtic now out of the way, the Gers will entirely focus on the Europa League quarter-finals where they will face Athletic Club.

The La Liga outfit are one of the favourites to win the competition after their impressive season in Spain.

Ferguson has shown, though, that he isn’t afraid to take on the best managers, beating Jose Mourinho in the previous round.
