Celtic v Rangers: BBC reporter hits out at ‘Inexplicable’ scenes
Rangers secured a huge three points against Celtic in the latest Old Firm derby.
In terms of domestic success, it has been very hard to come by for Rangers this season, but it was a very different story in their 3-2 victory against Celtic.
The hosts simply couldn’t handle Barry Ferguson’s side in the opening 45 minutes, with their intensity and work rate paying off at Celtic Park.
Europa League remains the priority for the Ghers, but they will take an incredible amount of momentum from the win, which forced Celtic into several mistakes.

Kasper Schmeichel fortunate v Rangers
Having taken a very early lead through Nico Raskin, Rangers dominated the opening stages of the clash against Celtic, causing a lot of frustration among the Bhoys’ faithful.
The initial intimidating atmosphere quickly turned into anger, and that spilled onto the pitch and it was nearly very costly for Brendan Rodgers side.
Scottish Premiership | G | W | D | L | P |
Celtic | 30 | 24 | 3 | 3 | 75 |
Rangers | 30 | 19 | 5 | 6 | 62 |
Under no pressure at all, Kasper Schmeichel lazily played a pass out from the back, straight into the path of Vaclav Cerny, who couldn’t make the most of the error, though Kheredine Idessane didn’t hesitate to crucify the Dane for his sloppiness.
Speaking via BBC Scotland (16 March, 12:51pm), he said: “Kasper Schmeichel must be the most relieved person inside Celtic Park.
“His inexplicable gift to Vaclav Cerny went unpunished but is emblematic of a very shaky start from the home side, who’re lucky to be just a goal down.”

Rangers subdue Celtic Park atmosphere
Celtic have been a force to be reckoned with at home, but in large parts of the game, Rangers were the ones to pose the most threat.
The frustration in the home stands was growing with each failed pass, while the Light Blues kept growing in confidence and were more than deserving of the three points.
While Celtic will be the most frustrated with the result, Rangers will also be feeling it. That performance, especially in the first half, was one of their best of the season, showcasing what could have been if they were able to replicate that throughout the campaign.
