Tom English makes mad Rangers admission after Fenerbahce showdown
Rangers secured a place in the Europa League quarter finals on penalties against Fenerbahce on Thursday.
The Gers can never do things the easy way and that was certainly the case when Jose Mourinho’s side levelled the tie with a 2-0 win across 120 minutes.
This took the tie to spot kicks and thanks to some heroics from Jack Butland and a Mert Hakan Yandas miss resulted in bedlam at Ibrox which wasn’t wasted on Tom English.

English reacts to Rangers win v Fenerbahce
It is fair to say that the Light Blues left everything on the pitch against the Turkish giants which resulted in a deserved result.
Regardless of an Ianis Hagi miss, terrific spot kicks from James Tavernier, Vaclav Cerny and Tom Lawrence were enough to earn a place in the next round of the competition.

After what has been such a frustrating season in the Scottish Premiership, the Europa League is such an important tournament for the Gers to perform in.
As a result, the relief from earning a place in the quarter finals was clear inside Ibrox and resulted in some wild scenes on the pitch and in the stands.
This was picked out by English via X on 13 March, who was left baffled by the performance of the Light Blues after everything that has gone on this campaign.
He said: “This Rangers team is truly the maddest outfit in football. Another incredible European tie negotiated, another big adventure to come.
“Dug it out. Terrific. Last eight in the Europa League after failing to make the last eight of the Scottish Cup. Remarkable.”
Rangers shine in Europa League once again
It is safe to say that there is something about Rangers and the Europa League.
This was on show when Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side made it to the final in Seville in a heartbreaking defeat to Frankfurt.
The fortune of continental football looks set to be back in Govan this campaign with a penalty shootout win to send the Ibrox crowd wild.
Barry Ferguson was ecstatic with the result and rightly so but also admitted his mind is already on the weekend.
A trip to face Celtic at Parkhead will be a completely different challenge and will show exactly where the Gers are after such a positive result.
