Rangers ‘to greenlight Jefte exit’ after what has happened at Ibrox
Rangers defender Jefte was linked with a move to Chelsea in the winter transfer window.
All in all, Rangers have endured a fairly horrid campaign with exits from both domestic cups and their 16-point gap from Celtic in the league.
Their triumph against Fenerbahce in the Europa League has increased their chances of finishing the season with silverware, though, even if they achieve that, there are still several concerns that will need to be addressed in the summer.
While the majority of those concerns regard off-pitch matters, Rangers certainly have plenty to attend to on the pitch and a failure to do so could have some pretty drastic effects on their new campaign.

Rangers surely ready to sanction Jefte exit
Chelsea were said to be taking a look at Jefte in the winter, though no move materialised and the Brazilian remained at Ibrox.
However, his performances since have been bordering on unacceptable, and his display against Fenerbahce was no different.
Jose Mourinho’s side levelled the game on aggregate in the second half of the second leg, just seconds after a horrendous attempt at a tackle from Jefte, who was also fortunate to get away with a penalty decision in the first half.
Rangers | Appearances | Tackles won | Duels won | Pass accuracy |
Jefte | 26 | 37 | 155 | 83.9% |
The Brazilian has massively struggled for form at Rangers this season, and it would be a risk to persist with him into the new campaign.
Given his age, the Light Blues could likely demand a fairly reasonable fee for the defender, and if so, they simply have to take the opportunity to go their separate ways.

Rangers have a big summer ahead
Regardless of whether Rangers are successful in their Europa League campaign or not, there are still many concerns that need to be addressed this summer.
The biggest is in regard to the next Rangers manager, given the early season failures of Philips Clement and the inevitable departure of Ferguson.
However, recruitment will be just as key for the Light Blues as they aim to get back to a side cable of challenging domestically.
