Rangers ‘to keep Hamza Igamane’ for double transfer fee at Ibrox
Rangers may be inclined to keep Hamza Igamane in the summer transfer window to increase their profit on a potential deal.
The Moroccan national has been a revelation at the Gers this season after cementing his place under Philippe Clement before his sacking.
Igamane has been impressive at Ibrox this season, and it isn’t surprising to see teams down south eyeing his signature in the coming months.
Everton, Sevilla and Olympique Marseille have been credited with an interest in the 22-year-old, but the Light Blues could possibly be tempted to keep hold of him for a bit longer.

Igamane transfer fee to double in 12 months at Rangers
Igamane’s price could potentially double in 12 months to what it might be in the summer window, Mark Guidi says.
The Scottish journalist believes that while the Gers may get £5million for the Moroccan ace at the end of the season, they might be able to demand £12m–£15m in a year’s time.
Guidi wants the Glaswegian outfit to keep the 22-year-old and further develop him to make a significant profit on his sale.
Competition | Appearances (2024/25) | Goals | Assists |
Scottish Premiership | 25 | 9 | 1 |
Europa League | 7 | 4 | 1 |
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show (10 March), the Scotsman said: “Igamane burst into the scene. Had a brilliant seven to eight weeks. He’s gone off the boil in terms of goals. But he’s still making a contribution. In terms of this summer, they bought him for approximately £1.5m.
If you sell him in the summer, I’m plucking a figure out of the air, somebody would give you £5m for him. However, if you’re Rangers, my point would be, I think we might be able to get £12m–£15m for him a year from now if he plays, we coach him, we bring him on.
” I think the potential is there for him to make a significant impact over the next 12 months. Therefore, we will get at least double we might get just now.”
49ers Enterprises to build around Igamane at Ibrox
Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises are poised to take control of the Gers, and the prospective new owners could see Igamane as the centre of their project.
The Moroccan youngster has seen his form dip in recent weeks, but there’s no denying the quality he possesses.
Barry Ferguson has relied on Cyriel Dessers to lead his line since being appointed interim manager, but the Nigerian striker’s future could be up in the air after being linked with an exit in the winter transfer window.
The Ibrox faithful are well aware of how frustrating the 30-year-old striker can be after his inconsistent displays under Clement.
Igamane and Danilo had pipped Dessers in the pecking order before he found a way back into the starting lineup after the Brazilian centre-forward’s injury.
The American owners will have some significant decisions to make if and when they complete their takeover, one of them being who the new manager will be.
While Ferguson has done a decent job in the Ibrox dugout so far, it would be surprising to see him continue beyond this season.
The next permanent head coach may be influential in deciding Igamane’s future at the Glaswegian outfit.
