Kris Boyd interrupts entire Sky Sports studio with new Rangers claim live on air
Rangers only have the Europa League left to play for this season after a horror year domestically.
The Gers have once again performed out of their skin in Europe, but are out of both domestic cups and 16 points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
That was highlighted perfectly after Rangers followed up a 2-1 defeat to Motherwell at Ibrox by beating Fenerbahce in a sensational 3-1 win in Turkiye on Thursday.

Kris Boyd makes stunning new Rangers claim
With the form that Rangers have shown in their Europa League games, they will be confident of going into the quarter-finals and beyond.
Nobody gave the Ibrox outfit a chance when facing Jose Mourinho’s men in Turkiye but they beat the odds and came out on top with relative ease, and should have scored more.
The second leg against Fenerbahce at Ibrox is on 13 March, with no game in-between for either side.
Speaking live on Sky Sports (8 March, 13:18), while Simon Thomas was talking about Manchester United needing to win the Europa League this term, Kris Boyd interrupted everyone.
“Rangers have won that,” he joked.

Rangers would do well to win the Europa League
There’s no denying that the Gers’ European form has been impressive this term and the fact they’re well on their way towards making the quarter-finals is nothing short of remarkable.
It’s been an embarrassing season in the Scottish Premiership again, and despite smashing Celtic in the last Old Firm, it’s the games against so-called lesser teams where they continue to trip.
Position | Team | Points |
1st | Celtic | 75 |
2nd | Rangers | 59 |
3rd | Hibernian | 43 |
4th | Aberdeen | 42 |
Rangers have more than enough quality in their squad to push Celtic all of the way, but the mentality is completely different in the opposite quarters of Glasgow.
And, even though they’ve been stellar in the Europa League, with teams such as Manchester United and Tottenham still left in contention, it’s hard to see how they’d be able to add the trophy to their cabinet.
