Celtic ‘to miss out on millions’ in Red Bull blow after 49ers latest at Rangers
Celtic’s hopes of profiting from a brand new agreement will surely be scuppered once 49ers Enterprises take charge at Rangers.
Rangers are on the cusp of a new era under the ownership of the American group, with the 49ers having agreed a deal in principle to purchase a controlling 51 per cent stake at Ibrox in the coming months.
The current mood around Ibrox is one of apathy and defeat, with Rangers suffering three home defeats in a row to drop out of both the Premiership title race and Scottish Cup contention in dismal fashion.
Celtic, as a result of Rangers‘ effective surrender and their own consistency, are therefore on course for a domestic treble, but further off-field progress at Parkhead could be hindered by their Old Firm rivals.

Red Bull move mooted by Alan Brazil amid Rangers takeover
With 49ers Enterprises set to take charge at Rangers in June, a line in the sand is set to be drawn which marks the start of the Light Blues’ fightback to become the solely dominant club in Glasgow once more.
Position | Team | Played | Won | Drawn | Lost | GD | Points |
1 | Celtic | 29 | 24 | 3 | 2 | +70 | 75 |
2 | Rangers | 29 | 18 | 5 | 6 | +33 | 59 |
3 | Hibernian | 29 | 11 | 10 | 8 | +4 | 43 |
However, speaking on talkSPORT (5 March, 6:21am), Alan Brazil shared a rumour that he’d heard across Glaasgow, regarding a potential partnership between Celtic and Austrian energy drinks giant Red Bull.
Brazil said: “I heard that Celtic… Red Bull were interested in taking a piece of Celtic, but I don’t know if that’s true or not – you get so many things sent to you.”

Leeds United conflict to benefit Rangers despite Celtic rumours
Both Glasgow giants being invested in by international conglomerates would leave the rest of Scottish football even further behind the eight-ball, but there’s a good to fair chance that this won’t happen.
Rangers would worry that any financial boost given to them by 49ers Enterprises’ investment could be made null and void by Red Bull pitching up at Celtic, but it’s the 49ers who hold the key to everything.
That’s because 49ers Enterprises already have a pre-existing relationship with Red Bull, having sold a roughly 10 per cent stake in Leeds United to the Austrians last summer, as well as shirt sponsorship.
Despite being two completely separate companies in any other regard, the 49ers would surely try to veto Red Bull purchasing a stake or investing money in any other Scottish club – least of all their arch-rivals.
It’s unlikely that Red Bull’s logo being slapped on the front of Celtic shirts would go down well among the Hoops faithful, albeit the blow would be softened by the multi millions brought in by that partnership, but given the influence that 49ers are about to exert, they probably won’t have to worry.
