Philippe Clement breaks silence after Rangers sack confirmed
Philippe Clement has sent a new message to Rangers after he was finally sacked at Ibrox.
The Belgian was given his marching orders by Patrick Stewart and the board following the 2-0 defeat against St Mirren at Ibrox.
Barry Ferguson has since been appointed as interim manager until the end of the season, with takeover talks rumbling in the background ahead of a huge change.

Clement only just accepts Rangers sack
Clement has sent his well wishes to the Ibrox club and fans, admitting that he took him days to accept that he was told to pack his bags.
After saying he worked hard day and night to get things right in Govan, the sacked manager insisted that Rangers will always remain in his heart.
Sharing a statement on X, he wrote: “Dear Rangers.
“It has taken me a few days to fully process and accept the end of my time with this exceptional club.
“I leave with a heavy heart, frustrated and disappointed that I couldn’t consistently bring the team to the level we all expected. I understand your frustrations and I share them.”

Ferguson struggles at Rangers
Clement will likely feel calm at this moment, knowing that Ferguson is going through the exact same struggle that he had at Ibrox.
This Rangers squad is nowhere near good enough, with zero character and spine in their performances to win any game when it gets even slightly tough.
Money has been spent in recent years, but not well enough, and that has left a dark hole in the finances, meaning little cash was available for the Belgian.
Despite that, he still had a squad that should have bulldozed through 95 per cent of the Scottish Premiership, and that just didn’t happen.
Clement Last Five | Results |
Rangers v St Mirren | 0-2 |
Hearts v Rangers | 1-3 |
Rangers v Queen’s Park | 0-1 |
Rangers v Ross County | 4-0 |
Rangers v USG | 2-1 |
Clement referenced the consistency that his Rangers side struggled with, as results against the likes of St Mirren and Queen’s Park saw his reign end.
That will be the ultimate frustration, as just the month before those games, he easily led his side to a huge 3-0 win over Celtic at Ibrox, his first in the Old Firm.
It wasn’t meant to be though, and it looks as though Clement has finally accepted that.
