Ally McCoist slams Rangers in damning verdict after what happened at Ibrox

Ally McCoist has given a damning verdict after Rangers lost to Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership.

The Gers lost 2-1 to Motherwell at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday (1 March) in what was their sixth loss of the league campaign.

Barry Ferguson was able to salvage a win against Kilmarnock after going two goals down on 26 February, but the Light Blues were unable to pull off a similar result against Stuart Kettlewell’s team.

The change in manager was supposed to change the mood around the Bears, but that hasn’t happened so far.

Rangers going through real struggle after Motherwell loss

McCoist feels the Glaswegian outfit are going through a real struggle after their loss to Motherwell.

The Gers icon has been left disappointed by the Light Blues after they dropped another three points against the Steelmen.

Ferguson took interim charge of the Glaswegian outfit after Philippe Clement lost the fans at Ibrox, and his arrival was seen as a necessary change, but it hasn’t gone smoothly for the Light Blues as they have continued to perform poorly.

Speaking on talkSPORT (3 March, 6:08), McCoist said: “[Rangers] are having a real struggle, a real struggle.”

Ibrox to demand Ferguson change soon

The Ibrox faithful wanted to see Ferguson make changes after he was appointed to lead the team until the end of the season.

Instead, the former Gers midfielder has made some questionable calls during his first two games, especially in defence.

Clinton Nsiala had been a reliable centre-back under Clement after the various injury issues at the back, but the French youngster has arguably been treated poorly recently.

The 21-year-old was hooked off after 30 minutes at Rugby Park and was subsequently dropped to the bench against Motherwell.

Ferguson opted to start James Tavernier and Robin Propper in defence at Ibrox, which evidently backfired.

Hamza Igamane and Ianis Hagi, who have been two of the Glaswegian outfit’s best players this season, were also substituted at half-time in the 2-1 loss.

The interim manager has continued to count on some of the old guard who have repeatedly shown that they aren’t reliable.

It won’t take long for the supporters to call out Ferguson if similar errors continue to happen.
