Rangers players on ‘notice period’ as Ibrox exits on the cards
Rangers players have been warned of severe upheaval in the summer after the surprise loss to Motherwell.
The Ibrox outfit were defeated 2-1 in Barry Ferguson’s first home match as manager (1 March), which allowed Celtic to take a 16-point buffer at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Numerous Gers players were subpar in the loss, which has led to questions over whether they have a future in Goven beyond the end of the season.

Rangers players given Ibrox warning
David Edgar took to X after the dismal result and claimed that many of the current squad know that they will not be around to witness the changes coming with the 49ers takeover.
He said: “We’re all excited about news of change so we assume the players are too. But really, many of them know they probably won’t be around long enough to be part of it.
“They look like they’re seeing out a notice period.”

Ferguson needs Rangers players to step up
If Ferguson is to secure the manager role on a permanent basis in the summer, he needs the senior players in the squad to step up and very fast to arrest their poor form.
The Gers need a significant turnaround in results to come away from the campaign with any kind of pride and that is what the Gers legend will be judged on.
Scottish Premiership | Played | GD | Points |
1. Celtic | 29 | +70 | 75 |
2. Rangers | 29 | +33 | 59 |
The gap to Celtic in the league is surely unbridgeable after Philippe Clement‘s dismal stint in the first half of the campaign and the Hoops are expected to run away with the league title at a canter barring a ridiculous comeback from the Auchenhowie outfit.
Their only real chance of winning anything is in the Europa League, where they have performed admirably so far against the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham, but they face a tough trip to Fenerbache before hosting Jose Mourinho’s side at Ibrox.
If the Light Blues progress from that tie, they will believe that they can go on to win the competition, if they are eliminated, their campaign will be one of utter failure and the club may look outside for their full-time Clement replacement.
The sooner that the Bears get rid of the deadwood and start to improve their recruitment the better, and then they can begin to think about challenging Celtic domestically.
