Rangers takeover legal documents to be drafted up in weeks as 49ers news emerges

49ers Enterprises have spent the first two months of the year closing in on a takeover deal with 49ers Rangers.

Paraag Marathe looks set to play a key role in the deal with the 49ers looking to complete the takeover in the next few months.

While the ownership of the Gers may be fragmented with the likes of Dave King and John Halsted among the majority shareholders, there are many inside the club who’d like to see the deal go ahead.

The 49ers are eyeing a controlling stake in the Ibrox outfit which would be the ideal outcome for all involved.

Rangers takeover documents to be presented in March

Since it was first reported that the US consortium were eyeing up a move for Rangers, things have seemed to move fairly quickly.

And, as per a fresh report from Chris Jack (28 February), it seems that the first draft of the documents regarding the takeover are set to be presented to all the involved parties by the middle of March.

The report adds that due to the sheer magnitude of the deal and what it would mean to the Gers, it’s a process that simply cannot be rushed as negotiations continue between the involved parties.

King has already made his stance about selling his shares more than clear with the likes of John Bennett and Barry Scott also open to doing so.

Rangers cannot be in the shadows of Celtic for much longer

The last few years for Rangers have undoubtedly been hard to take.

Celtic have been the dominant force in the Scottish Premiership with the gap between the two teams seeming to get larger each season.

Rangers are 13 points adrift of the Bhoys and even though they’ve won four out of their last five Scottish Premiership games, there’s not a chance that Brendan Rodgers’ men let the title slip out of the grasp now.

The rumours of 49ers Enterprises being interested in taking over Rangers will have no doubt filled fans with confidence and perhaps some hope for what’s to come in their future.

If the NFL franchise does manage to come in and take over, the first things that fans will want to see are results and the way they’ll get that is by investing in the Ibrox outfit and bettering their ranks.

Which, at the end of the day, is the least that the Ibrox faithful deserve, especially with some of the results their team have succumbed to already this season.
