Barry Ferguson and Neil McCann spotted in rage at senior Rangers star v Motherwell

Barry Ferguson and Neil McCann were spotted scratching their heads at what they saw in Rangers’ 2-1 defeat to Motherwell on Saturday.

The Gers were embarrassed against the Steelmen in their Scottish Premiership clash, with fans booing their side off the pitch yet again.

One fan spotted Ferguson and McCann both visibly enraged at what Jack Butland was doing moments after his blunder for the opening goal.

Jack Butland cost Rangers against Motherwell

Last term, Butland was one of the Gers’ best players, but now, something has clearly changed as the Englishman is half the player he was.

Indeed, he’s had a couple of injuries which won’t have helped matters much, but failing to collect a simple shot with zero pace is shocking, and it appears he won’t be guaranteed his spot much longer.

During the game, Ferguson and McCann exploded at his distribution too, with nothing going right for anyone in blue at this moment in time.

“Watching Ferguson and McCann’s reaction to what’s happening on the pitch has been really interesting,” This Is Ibrox wrote via X (1 March).

“Going mental at Butland for not releasing the ball quickly enough. Clear frustration from both at the ball going across the back four too often.”

Rangers need to step things up in the Scottish Premiership

With their season now all but over, you’d at least think that the Rangers players would be trying to put in some sort of effort to generate some momentum for next term.

Instead, they’ve fallen back into their old ways and to be quite frank, have shown no signs of desire or want to better their performances.

Saturday’s game has not only helped prove that but it’s also outlined how much still needs to be changed at Ibrox.

But, for the Govan-based outfit to better themselves next season, they need to massively improve their performances now.

Because, going into the 2025/26 season with the same mindset their team currently has, would result in nothing but more failure.

That is the last thing that anyone within Rangers wants, especially after the turmoil they’ve been through already since the very start of the campaign.
