Connor Goldson sends message to Rangers star after what he did v Kilmarnock

Connor Goldson has reacted after Rangers secured a comeback win against Kilmarnock in Barry Ferguson’s first game in charge.

Despite going 2-0 down to Kilmarnock in the opening 15 minutes, Rangers fought back to win 4-2 at Rugby Park, with three goals arriving in the second half.

A brace from Cyriel Dessers was matched with goals from Vaclav Cerny and Nedim Bajrami, preventing a debut defeat for Ferguson.

Goldson, a former favourite at Rangers who has been sorely missed this season, reacted to the win in a new heartfelt message.

Ridvan Yilmaz proves his worth for Rangers

Despite not being named in the starting 11, Ridvan Yilmaz was still called upon and had a big impact in the game after being introduced in the 31st minute, as he has done on many occasions for Rangers.

The fullback registered the assist for Dessers’ second goal of the clash and took to Instagram after the game to soak in the glory of the three points.

His post, captioned with a blue and white love heart emoji, saw ex-Gers defender Goldson replying with “My boy”.

Yilmaz has featured regularly for Rangers

Yilmaz has had a stop-and-start kind of campaign, though he has contributed plenty to the team when he has featured.

His assist against Kilmarnock was his second of the season, though his return doesn’t reflect the positive impact he has had on the pitch.

Ferguson blushes spared by Rangers comeback

Rangers have endured a fairly horrid campaign, though the failures have stretched far beyond that with their last league title coming back in 2021, just before the departure of Steven Gerrard.

With Ferguson in charge until the end of the campaign, getting off to a good start was crucial if he was to have any chance of winning the trust of the Light Blues supporters who have largely had it exploited over the last few seasons.

The focus for now has to be getting results on the pitch, to have a far better campaign next time out, still in mind.
