Rangers takeover: ‘Significant implications’ on the cards in new reveal
Rangers could learn the fate of their takeover by the Leeds United owners San Francisco 49ers in a meeting this week.
Paraag Marathe, the chairman of the EFL club, is understood to be playing a pivotal role in sealing the deal to buy a majority stake in the Ibrox outfit.
Things are understood to be advancing with regards to the takeover, but nothing has been finalised, as things stand.

Gers may face significant implications with regards to the takeover
City AM reported on 26 February that the takeover may hinge on talks between the EFL clubs about loosening regulations preventing the dual ownership of clubs in different competitions.
That conversation is set to take place at the divisional meetings this week.
While no vote will take place as it’s not a formal agenda item, it may have “significant implications” on the Rangers takeover.
As more club owners are seeking a multi-club ownership model, the issue will be discussed this week with a view to putting it to a vote at their AGM in the summer.

Ibrox can undergo changes post the Rangers takeover
American owners, especially those of NFL clubs, see their stadiums being used as arenas for entertainment – much beyond sport.
The 49ers could look to do something similar at Ibrox and potentially transform the landscape of Gers’ home ground.
This could see a lot happening on matchdays and also in the summer, with the ground potentially being used for concerts or other festivals.

It could also see reconstruction of some of the stands, potentially increasing the capacity and also create a different matchday viewing experience.
All of this, undoubtedly, will need to be done with the approval of the fans as they have been the lifeblood of the club.
Marathe will need to understand just how fractured the relationship between the board and the fans is currently and look towards improving it.
