Rangers news round-up: Frank Lampard hire claim amid 49ers takeover update
Rangers have had a chaotic week with Philippe Clement finally losing his job after months of speculation.
Gers legend Barry Ferguson was appointed as interim manager until the end of the season on 24 February as the Belgian was finally handed his marching orders.
With the search for a new permanent manager underway and the 49ers takeover talks continuing, there is plenty of reason for excitement in Govan.
Here, Ibrox News rounds up the latest rumours and reports from Auchenhowie on 26 February.

Ex-England star tipped for Rangers vacancy
Former England star Ashley Cole has been tipped to take over from Ferguson in the summer.
Ex-West Ham ace Carlton Cole believes that the former Chelsea man should throw his hat into the ring for the Ibrox vacancy.
Speaking on The Dressing Room podcast (25 February), he said: “Cole, he’s up for it, isn’t he? Someone will give him a chance, you just have to apply”
Rangers face ‘significant implications’ after new takeover reveal
Rangers could learn the fate of the 49ers takeover in a meeting later this week, according to a report from City AM.
The report claims the takeover may hinge on talks between EFL clubs on loosening regulations surrounding multi-club ownership.
The outlet states that while no vote will take place on the matter as it is not a formal agenda item, talks may have “significant implications” on the Ibrox deal.

New twist emerges in 49ers Rangers takeover
A new twist has emerged in the 49ers takeover plans with Andrew Cavanagh set to have an increased role.
A report from The Athletic (26 February) claims that the ParetoHealth chairman will take a bigger block of shares than Paarag Marathe.
It states that the group will purchase the required 51 per cent to take a controlling stake in the club through a separate vehicle that will include Cavanagh and the 49ers Enterprises group.
Frank Lampard to Rangers update shared
Former England star Frank Lampard could leave Coventry to take over at Rangers, according to Jackie McNamara.
The former Celtic manager believes that the ex-Chelsea star would leave the Championship outfit despite only being appointed in November if the Gers job was offered to him.
Speaking on Open Goal (25 Ferbuary), McNamara said: ““Maybe, yeah. Would he leave Coventry for Rangers? Maybe.”
