Nsiala humiliated, Dessers stars – Rangers player ratings v Kilmarnock
Barry Ferguson humiliated Clinton Nsiala as Cyriel Dessers starred for Rangers in a 4-2 comeback win against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Wednesday.
Rangers found themselves trailing by two goals 14 minutes into the game as Joe Wright and Brad Lyons put the hosts in front on 26 February.
However, a brace from Dessers and a goal each from Vaclav Cerny and Nedim Bajrami saw the Ibrox outfit claim all three points in Ferguson’s first game as their head coach.
Here, Ibrox News rates each player out of 10.
Jack Butland – 5
Made a fine save in the first half to prevent Kilmarnock from scoring their third, but had a quiet game after that as Rangers went on to gain control.
James Tavernier – 7
Moved to centre-back after Clinton Nsiala was taken off in the first half, but still made an impact in attack, putting a corner on the plate for Dessers to finish, while also keeping the Killie attack at bay.

Robin Propper with another stinker
Robin Propper – 3
Was seen falling to the ground as Wright headed home for the hosts. Robin Propper put in a stinker of a performance. Also had his name taken.
Clinton Nsiala (Off for Ridvan Yilmaz 30′) – 1
Was so poor that Ferguson was forced to substitute him just 30 minutes into the game after the Gers went 2-0 down.
Jefte – 4
Looked susceptible in defence at times and hardly contributed in attack.
Mohamed Diomande – 7
Set up Cerny for Rangers’ opener and also grabbed the assist for Bajrami’s goal.
Nicolas Raskin – 4
Was at fault for one of the goals and was not as influential as his midfield partner.
Vaclav Cerny (Off for Ross McCausland 87′) – 8
Cerny hauled Rangers back into the game after going two goals behind with a splendid finish.
Matches | Minutes | Goals | Assists | Yellow Cards | Red Cards |
40 | 2989′ | 15 | 7 | 4 | 0 |
Hamza Igamane (Off for Nedim Bajrami 78′) – 5
Forced a terrific save from Kieran O’Hara early on, but had a comparatively quiet game overall.
Ianis Hagi (Off for Tom Lawrence 78′)- 5
Booked for a clash with Kyle Magennis and was not as influenced as others.
Cyriel Dessers – 9
Dessers did not seem to have his shooting boots on as he missed two great chances in the first half, but did well to equalise for the visitors from a corner before grabbing the winner with a splendid finish. He then played a key role in Bajrami’s goal with a deft touch.
