Frank Lampard ‘may leave Coventry for Rangers’ as new manager eyed at Ibrox
Frank Lampard may join Rangers as their next permanent manager if offered the role after Barry Ferguson, one pundit has suggested.
Philippe Clement was sacked by Ibrox chiefs after the Gers lost 2-0 to St Mirren at home in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday (22 February).
Patrick Stewart gave the Belgian manager several opportunities at the Light Blues, but the defeat to the Saints was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Ferguson has been appointed at Ibrox on an interim basis until the end of the season, and the Bears could potentially have Lampard in their dugout next summer.

Rangers offer may be accepted by Lampard
Lampard could possibly accept the managerial role at the Glaswegian outfit if an offer is made, Jackie McNamara says.
The ex-Celtic defender believes the Coventry boss could seemingly leave his current role at the Championship outfit to join the Gers.
Lampard was in contention to replace Michael Beale, but the Light Blues ended up appointing Clement instead.
Speaking on Open Goal (25 February), Si Ferry asked: “Would a Lampard take this now if you offered him again?”
McNamara responded: “Maybe, yeah. Would he leave Coventry for Rangers? Maybe.”
Ibrox set for anxious decision on next manager after Ferguson
Ferguson and other legends arriving at Rangers is evidently a short-term solution for the current situation.
Not many expect the Gers icon to last in the dugout beyond this season, with a potential takeover also on the horizon.
The 49ers Enterprises may want a new manager at Ibrox once they take control of the Light Blues and could possibly look to appoint a big name.
It would be surprising to see Ferguson last beyond this season, along with Billy Dodds, Allan McGregor and Neil McCann in his coaching staff.
The Glaswegian outfit aim to return to the top and compete with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, but they are currently miles behind.

Lampard has managed top teams like Chelsea and Everton during his short stint as manager and is now doing a decent job at Coventry.
The Championship outfit are around the play-off spots in the second tier but aren’t seen as favourites to win promotion to the Premier League.
With arguably more chances of winning silverware at the Bears, they should have a chance to convince Lampard, if they decide to go down that route.
