Philippe Clement spotted at Auchenhowie for last time hours after Rangers sack
Philippe Clement was back at Rangers on Monday just hours after being sacked their manager.
Rangers announced their decision to sack Clement on Sunday (23 February) evening in the aftermath of a demoralising 2-0 defeat against St. Mirren at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.
With the Light Blues hierarchy looking to hire a caretaker manager until the end of the season, Barry Ferguson has emerged as an early favourite to take the reins at Ibrox.
The former captain is scheduled to meet Patrick Stewart on Monday to hold further talks, with Fraser Thornton and James Taylor also arriving at Auchenhowie.

Meanwhile, Clement also reported at the Rangers training ground on Monday, with the Record sharing pictures of the Belgian tactician arriving in his car.
In one of the images, the 50-year-old was snapped alongside trusted ally Stephan Van Der Heyden, who is also set to follow him out of the door at Ibrox.
Competition | Rangers |
Scottish Premiership | Second (13 points behind Celtic after 27 games) |
UEFA Europa League | Round of 16 (Face Fenerbahce in March) |
Scottish Cup | Knocked out by Queen’s Park in fifth round |
Scottish League Cup | Lost on penalties v Celtic in final |
Clement is said to have gone to Auchenhowie to say his final goodbyes and clear out his desk as Rangers announced the decision to sack him just hours after their power brokers met to discuss his future.
The visit was described as “quick-fire” by those present at the training ground.

Rangers owe Clement a compensation
Clement will not be too upset about leaving Rangers as he owed a significant amount of money in compensation for his contract being terminated.
The Record reported on Sunday that the seven-figure fee that Rangers owe will be more than the initially reported sum of £1.2million.
The Premiership heavyweights would have preferred to avoid this situation, with Patrick Stewart even extending his support towards Clement last week.
However, the manner of the defeat against St. Mirren left the Gers hierarchy with no choice but to pull the plug on the former Monaco boss.
