Philippe Clement sack: Two more senior exits done at Rangers
Philippe Clement has been accompanied by two more figures out of Ibrox after his Rangers sacking.
The Gers have sacked the Belgian manager after their damaging loss to St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership at home on Saturday (22 February).
Patrick Stewart has finally made the call at Ibrox after seemingly being reluctant to dismiss the 50-year-old head coach recently.
Clement is not the only one to leave the Glaswegian outfit, though, with two members of his staff stepping down as well.

Alex Rae and Stephen van der Heyden leave Rangers
Alex Rae and Stephen van der Heyden have left the Bears along with the Belgian manager, according to The Rangers Review.
The news outlet reports (24 February) that the first-team coach and the assistant manager have departed the Light Blues.
It has been claimed that Clement was informed of the decision to sack him on Sunday night (23 February), and some of his staff have also been fired.
Scottish Premiership table (2024/25) | Matches played | Points |
1. Celtic | 27 | 69 |
2. Rangers | 27 | 56 |
It remains to be seen who will be appointed to succeed the 50-year-old head coach, with an approach possible for Russell Martin at Ibrox [The Scottish Sun].
Ibrox set for big changes after Clement sack
Fans have wanted to see a change in the Glaswegian outfit for several weeks now, and it was a surprise to see Clement survive after losing to Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup.
While the former Monaco boss did well to finish eighth in the Europa League group stage, his time was clearly up at Ibrox.
The Belgian manager seemed devoid of ideas at the start of the season, and it was only after he made a few changes to the starting lineup that things started to change.
With more youngsters being involved in the team recently, there was an argument to be made in favour of the 50-year-old head coach.
It’s a shame that Clement was unable to bring consistency to the Gers’ performances, which eventually led to his downfall.
The Belgian manager will probably get another managerial job elsewhere, but he evidently wasn’t the right man for the Light Blues.
The Bears are looking to compete with Celtic going forward, and considering Clement’s record against them, his sacking was inevitable.
What does the future hold for the Glaswegian outfit now?
