Derek Ferguson immediately reacts to new Rangers manager update – Exclusive
Derek Ferguson has immediately reacted to the latest news surrounding Rangers after the decision to sack Philippe Clement was confirmed.
Clement leaves Ibrox with Rangers sitting 13 points behind Celtic, out of both domestic cups but into the final 16 of the Europa League.
A 2-0 defeat at home against St Mirren on Saturday was the final straw for Patrick Stewart and the board, weeks after the embarrassing loss to Queen’s Park.

Barry Ferguson to take over at Rangers
In an immediate twist following Clement being sacked, the Daily Record reports that Barry Ferguson could be appointed as interim manager within hours.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Derek reacted to the news on his brother, who could be heading into a new role at Auchenhowie in the immediate future.
“A Rangers man through and through is for all to see, been out of the game for a while but you never know,” he said.
“I’m sure the club will sit down with the existing football staff to see what direction they take.”

Rangers need complete rebuild yet again at Ibrox
It feels like De Ja Vu at Ibrox, with another permanent new manager needed before he could even complete two seasons in Govan.
Michael Beale, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and now Clement have all been hit by the same stick, with small successes not enough following what Steven Gerrard did at Ibrox.
While the huge takeover from Paraag Marathe and American investors bubble in the background, an interim manager until the summer could be perfect.

Only across the summer break and pre-season will any new manager be able to get hold of this squad, make new transfers and secure the backing of potential new owners.
Ferguson obviously knows Rangers inside and out, of course, and his passion alone could be the catalyst needed to at least secure a positive end to the season.
