Brendan Rodgers’ side have enjoyed a considerable margin over the Light Blues in recent years but Hugh Keevins has warned them against complacency in the midst of the Gers takeover developments.

49ers takeover is no quick fix for Rangers
Rangers have a myriad of issues to solve before they come anywhere close to catching up with Celtic.
The Light Blues could not even narrow the gap between the two sides after the Hoops were defeated by Hibernian with Clement’s side losing 2-0 to St Mirren.
The most pressing issue is the status of the manager, who is currently hanging onto his future by a very narrow thread after a string of embarrassing results.

Another problem is the state of the squad, it is clearly not good enough to compete with Rodgers’ side at the moment, despite having some bright sparks like Vaclav Cerny and Hamza Igamane.
The 49ers deal should at least eliminate the boardroom chaos that has plagued the Bears in recent years but it will not solve all of the Gers financial woes, according to football finance expert Kieran Maguire.
The takeover will bring renowned hope for the Light Blues support but it is not a simple process, the players still have to perform on the pitch, the man in the dugout has to get the selections right and the board still needs to ensure the club is stable.
