Rangers shock emerges after ‘surprising’ 49ers admission at Leeds United

Rangers could be in for a shock as a surprising admission has been made about 49ers Enterprises at Leeds United.

The Americans took over the Whites in 2023, and they now find themselves at the top of the Championship.

While supporters will be delighted to see fresh investment coming into the Bears, there could seemingly be cause for concern after what has been said about them.

San Francisco 49ers won’t invest much at Rangers

Keith Jackson was shocked as a Leeds fan expressed their discontent about the 49ers.

The Whites’ supporter claimed that the Americans have been unimpressive, and there hasn’t been much difference in the West Yorkshire outfit’s transfer spending since the takeover.

The Daily Record journalist was left surprised as he was of the impression that most Leeds fans are happy with their current owners.

Speaking on Hotline Live (20 February), Jackson said: “That comment surprises me from the Leeds fan. I was under the general impression that Leeds fans were perfectly happy with it and more than happy with the way their club is run.”

Ibrox set for anxious wait with 49ers Enterprises

It isn’t surprising that the 49ers want to buy Rangers, considering the stature of the Glaswegian outfit in Scotland.

While the Ibrox faithful have witnessed Celtic dominate in recent years, the American consortium could breathe fresh life into the Light Blues’ coffers.

The Gers have struggled to compete with their Old Firm rivals when it comes to transfers as their financial condition hasn’t allowed them to do so.

Years of mismanagement have led to a crisis at the Bears, which has resulted in the Hoops dominating the league for several years now.

The Light Blues won their first Scottish Premiership title in 10 years back in 2021, but since then haven’t looked anywhere near their best.

Philippe Clement was slowly starting to turn the tide at the Glaswegian outfit this season, but losing to Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup has made his position untenable.

Patrick Stewart and Fraser Thornton were supposed to bring direction to the Gers after their arrival in December 2024, but they have shown little so far at Ibrox.

There’s a desperate need for change at the Light Blues, and the supporters will hope the 49ers are the answer to their prayers.
