Rangers ‘disaster’ verdict shared as Ferguson raises Leeds United example
Rangers have been told that Leeds United is a good blueprint to follow amid the 49ers Enterprises takeover latest.
Reports emerged on Wednesday (19 February) suggesting that 49ers Enterprises are in advanced talks over a potential takeover at Ibrox.
While there may still be various hurdles to overcome if a Rangers takeover is to be finalised, the early signs are positive for what will be an exciting new era at Ibrox.

Derek Ferguson shares Rangers takeover verdict
49ers Enterprises already have a stake in Leeds United, meaning a multi-club ownership could potentially be in place and therefore a possible conflict of interest.
That may bring its pitfalls, but the way Leeds have stabilised off the field over the past 18 months or so is testament to what is possible under the American franchise.
And speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, an excited Derek Ferguson said: “I’ve felt for the Rangers players because times have been tough off the field, as it was at Leeds. You have to factor that in.
“The most important thing is what happens on the field, but look at Leeds – things have settled and they’re going back to the Premier League. I’d love the same thing to happen at Rangers.
“This season has been a disaster – the caveat being Europe, which is a bonus and always will be for Rangers. Rangers teams are based on how they perform domestically and right now we are nowhere near it.
“What’s happening at Leeds, a lot of Rangers fans will be looking at it, seeing how it’s changed over the past two years and hope the same can happen at Ibrox.”

Leeds United show the way for Rangers
It may sound strange on the face of it given Leeds‘ reputation as being a bit of a basket-case club – and one that are playing outside of the top tier in England – but the 49ers have helped stabilise them.
Daniel Farke was backed to go again this season and Leeds are looking great value to go back up, with talk of millions being pumped in to help keep them in the Premier League.
Rangers‘ sole target in the Scottish Premiership is to finish above Celtic, and therefore finish top of the table.
With the right people behind the scenes, and a nice cash influx, there is no reason why the Gers cannot return to the top of the pile very soon indeed.
