Scottish FA react to ‘Sensational’ 49ers takeover news at Rangers already

Scottish football leaders have reacted to “sensational” takeover news coming out of Rangers already from Hampden Park.

The 49ers Enterprises and Paraag Marathe, along with other American investors are in advanced talks over a takeover bid at Ibrox.

Currently also chairman at Leeds United, Marathe could be about to welcome another club into his model alongside the English giants.

Scottish FA react to huge Rangers takeover news

While Rangers will need to be wary of UEFA regulations, it is said that Scottish FA chiefs have no issues with the “Sensational” proposed takeover, according to the Daily Record.

Sources insist that the SFA would only have an issue if the multi-club model impacted the integrity of Scottish football, with a multi-million-pound deal lined up.

Dave King may be the first of several stakeholders to sell up at Ibrox, with others potentially set to follow suit in a huge shake-up at boardroom level.

Billionaire Bournemouth owner Bill Foley has become part of the set-up at Hibernian recently, cleared by the SFA, so there should be no issues using that as a case study.

Rangers set to explode under new ownership

Rangers could be about to go to another level in Scotland.

While sweeping changes wouldn’t happen immediately, the 49ers have huge commercial links, with the likes of Will Ferrel and Michael Phelps investors at Leeds.

The Bears are miles behind Celtic both on and off the pitch, sitting 13 points behind their fierce rivals in the Scottish Premiership with little chance of any silverware this season.

Celtic have spent millions in the transfer window yet again during this campaign, with Rangers having to scrape pennies together just to bring in some new faces on loan.

Of course, they won’t be able to throw cash in immediately, but it will bring the growth to Ibrox so they can do that in the near future.

Philippe Clement is facing unlimited sack pressure from outside the Ibrox boardroom, so his future will be a key talking point as the takeover progresses despite Patrick Stewart backing him again.
