Rangers takeover latest: ‘Transfer spree ready’, sensational Scottish FA news
Rangers fans are eager for developments on the breaking stories at Ibrox, as updates come through on a huge possible takeover at Ibrox.
A US-based consortium propped up by 49ers Enterprises, owners of Leeds United and the business arm of the San Francisco NFL giants, are in advanced talks to buy out the multiple shareholders.
On the pitch, Philippe Clement saw some short-term pressure ease after victory at Hearts last Sunday (16 February), before preparing this weekend to host St Mirren.
Ibrox News rounds up the latest regarding the Rangers takeover news after it broke on Wednesday (19 February).

Halsted not a force behind US-based Rangers talks
John Halsted is not a driving force behind the bid to acquire a significant Rangers stake by the US consortium, despite initial suggestions.
This is according to the Daily Record, who has rubbished claims that prominent board member Halsted was playing a key role in helping push along a deal.
The group, 49ers Enterprises, backing the advanced progress is led by Paraag Marathe – who has made significant strides at Leeds United as current investors are open to selling their shares.
The difficulty lies with the fact there are so many minority shareholders at Ibrox with shares very much balanced out.
Marathe and 49ers face UEFA barrier
Should the takeover go through at Ibrox, 49ers Enterprises will still have to comply with UEFA restrictions on spending.
With immense progress seemingly having been made at Rangers behind closed doors over recent months, it could still serve as a crash back down to earth with UEFA’s rules.
Regulations state that no more than 80 per cent of revenue can be spent on transfer fees, agent payments and player wages. This is set to be lowered to 70 per cent from next season.
Finance expert Dan Plumley has reinforced the fact that Rangers must be very careful when navigating potential increased spending.
Scottish FA react to ‘sensational’ takeover news
Some positive news in response to the reality-check reminder via UEFA is that the Scottish FA should be perfectly settled with the proposed multi-million-pound takeover.
The Daily Record has assured supporters that the SFA should see no issue with the takeover, despite it representing a multi-club model alongside Leeds as part of the NFL conglomerate’s sporting network.
The ever-increasing empire of Marathe is unlikely to affect the “integrity” of Scottish football, despite being unable to acquire a fully controlling stake, so will not be struck on red alert by the SFA.

Rangers backed for ‘squad overhaul’ to worry Celtic
Rangers will embark on a significant squad and transfer improvement surgery to rival the business in recent years done by Celtic, according to Hugh Keevins.
Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Keevins outlined the “magnitude” of the takeover should it go through, and Celtic would stand up and take notice if Gers’ financial arm was able to be flexed in the future with deeper financial backing.
The hope among fans at Ibrox is that a new era can develop and reap proper success for their club, which has been desperately lacking for seasons on end.
