Jim White calls on Rangers fans after what he has just seen Celtic do

Jim White called on Rangers fans to speak up live on talkSPORT after what happened to Celtic in the Champions League.

A bitter rivalry hasn’t peaked this season, with the Bears lagging behind Celtic by an embarrassing 13 points in the Scottish Premiership.

While the Light Blues have found themselves struggling under the management of Philippe Clement, Bayern Munich needed a last-minute goal to beat Celtic in the Champions League.

Jim White asks Rangers fans to comment on Celtic

Losing the first Old Firm of the season at Parkhead before that bitterly disappointing Scottish League Cup final defeat on penalties, it couldn’t have started much worse.

Rangers then went to crash out of the Scottish Cup at the hands of Queen’s Park after a 1-0 defeat and a missed penalty by James Tavernier.

The disappointment of these results has left plenty of questions being asked of Clement with many scratching their heads as to how he hasn’t been sacked.

However, with automatic qualification secured in the Europa League, there is still a glimmer of hope.

Speaking live on talkSPORT after Celtic crashed to defeat at Bayern Munich, White called on Rangers fans to learn their thoughts, saying: “Let’s hear from Celtic fans this morning and, if you like, Rangers fans this morning as to where they think their great Old Firm rivals have actually got themselves.

“Where’s Scottish football as a result of last night’s result sitting this morning.”

Rangers desperate for success again

Although the late heartbreak for Celtic would have no doubt provided plenty of joy for Gers supporters, there must also be a level of envy given how poorly their side are doing this season.

It wasn’t long ago that the two sides were competing and pushing each other all the way in Scottish football but now, their rivals are running the show while the Light Blues fall well behind.

Of course, if the Gers can go all the way in the Europa League it will certainly bring some smug smiles to the faces of supporters, but that will not be an easy task.

Looking at how well Celtic did on the night surely highlights to the hierarchy at Ibrox just how far their standards have fallen under their current management and how unacceptable things are right now.

While there is no guarantee that the Gers could go and perform any better on the Champions League stage, the right decisions have to be made now at Ibrox to give the Light Blues the chance to compete at the highest level.

With Clement remaining at the helm, you couldn’t blame supporters for wondering where the success will come from.
