Philippe Clement ‘already packing bags at Rangers’ after Patrick Stewart talks
Philippe Clement’s days at Ibrox could be numbered as pressure continues to mount on the Rangers boss.
Supporters are, understandably, fuming with their team, the manager, and the Ibrox hierarchy following the embarrassing defeat to Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup.
Derek McInnes has already been tipped to replace the Belgian, with the Gers only slipping further and further behind Celtic on and off the pitch.
While Patrick Stewart has stood firm over the decision to keep Clement at the helm, that all might be about to come crumbling down as fans continue to push for a change.
Philippe Clement might already know Rangers fate
Speaking to the media, via Sky Sports [14 February], Clement said: “I spoke with Patrick (Stewart) after the game as I do after every game. For sure, I know Sunday was a big blow to get that result.
“It is unacceptable. We have had some great moments together at Ibrox, this was clearly a bad moment. I understand the frustrations. I want to fight for this club.
“Not one manager in the world has guarantees. Maybe Pep Guardiola. We spoke about the game and the result didn’t reflect the game. Now we need to react”
Ibrox faithful to question hierarchy’s decisions
Those comments will do nothing to comfort the frustrated fans at Ibrox, especially the ones about how normal Stewart was after the Light Blues crashed out of the Scottish Cup in spectacular style.
Although the manager is unlikely to air any proper information from his talks with the CEO, talks between the two should not be the same as every other match due to the embarrassment of the situation.
Also, his quotes about Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola being the only manager who has guarantees are rather telling. This would suggest that, actually, Clement is not definitely safe from being sacked.
He might already be packing his bags.

Given the Gers are currently 13 points behind their opponents in the Scottish Premiership table, it would be no surprise to see the Belgian relieved of his duties before the end of the campaign.
It’s arguably a bigger surprise that he is still surviving at Ibrox, especially after the Union Bears walked out during the 3-0 win over Aberdeen last month.
There was a clear message sent to the hierarchy. They chose not to listen to the message. Whatever happens next is exactly what those in charge deserve.
Taking away the Gers’ exploits in the Europa League, the entire campaign has been embarrassing for all involved, giving the fans every right to be desperate for Clement to be sacked.
