Ridvan Yilmaz injury update emerges ahead of Rangers clash v Hearts
Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz is not expected to play the full 90 minutes against Hearts on Sunday, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the chances of him aggravating his condition are higher so the club may be conservative with the minutes he’s allowed to play.
Yilmaz, 23, played 29 minutes in the 1-0 defeat to Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup.
Rangers will see how Ridvan Yilmaz responds in training
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Ibrox News: “He’s back in full first team training and he’s far along in the process of returning to matches, as long as he tolerates training well.
“If that goes according to plan, he would be reintroduced into bounce matches and already played his first one last weekend.
“He’s still unlikely to play the full 90 minutes this weekend as he’s not had too much game time under his belt so chances of re-injury are high.“
This season, the Turkey international has faced multiple injury setbacks and has only made eight league starts.
He’s also filled in for James Tavernier at right-back, proving to be an important utility player for Philippe Clement.
Ridvan Yilmaz must now have no more injury setbacks
Gers require Yilmaz to be fit for the remainder of the season due to his pivotal role in the team’s defensive and offensive strategies.
The left-back was signed for a significant fee from Besiktas with high expectations, particularly for his attacking prowess and ability to contribute to the team’s play from the back.
His absence due to injuries has been a notable setback as he has missed numerous matches, which has disrupted the team’s consistency and tactical balance.
While Jefte has done decently in his stead, the overreliance on one player is always detrimental.
Yilmaz’s presence allows for tactical flexibility, offering an attacking option on the left flank that complements the play of James Tavernier on the right.

Moreover, the Turk’s familiarity with the league, despite his injury woes, has shown glimpses of his potential when he has played, suggesting he could be key in crucial matches, especially against rivals like Celtic.
