Philippe Clement update emerges as Rangers meeting held with Patrick Stewart

Patrick Stewart met with the Rangers Fan Advisory board to discuss a number of issues at the club.

They stated that the minutes of that meeting will be made public very shortly as the other fans have a right to know what the CEO plans to do.

The said meeting was held last week amid growing worries at Gers after the recent cup final defeat against Queen’s Park.

Philippe Clement will hold his Rangers press conference on Friday

With the club’s official X account not posting anything since the defeat to Queens Park, speculation has been running rife over whether or not Philippe Clement’s time at the club is untenable.

However, the Daily Record reported on 12 February that the Belgian will be holding his press conference on Friday as expected ahead of the game against Hearts on Sunday.

Given the club’s current predicament, it’s clear that Stewart would have faced an intense grilling from the Fan Advisory Board.

The club is in a state of disarray following a humiliating cup final defeat to Queens Park, a lower-league team, which has left fans questioning the direction and leadership at Ibrox.

With the club lagging significantly behind rivals Celtic, fans would have demanded clarity on the CEO’s vision and strategy to address the club’s woes.

Questions likely centred around managerial decisions, transfer policies, and the overall footballing philosophy, which have all been under scrutiny due to the team’s inconsistent performances.

Philippe Clement seems to be running out of answers

It will be particularly interesting to hear from Clement at his scheduled press conference.

His retention despite the recent debacle indicates that either he has a plan to turn things around or there are other factors at play, perhaps unseen by the public, that warrant his continued leadership.

Fans will be keen to understand what actions or assurances the Belgian has provided to keep his position, especially in light of the mounting pressure.

They’ll look for signs of a clear plan, accountability for past failures and a roadmap to reclaim Gers’ competitive edge, both in domestic and European competitions.

This press conference could either quell some of the unrest or fan the flames of fan discontent further.
