Philippe Clement slammed after what he did to Rangers player in Ibrox humiliation
Craig Moore has slammed Philippe Clement over one particular decision he made as Rangers suffered a humiliating loss to Queen’s Park at Ibrox.
The Belgian is a man under intense pressure on the back of Rangers’ shock 1-0 defeat on Sunday (9 February), leaving their season hinging on the Europa League.
Clement’s salary at Rangers has been cited as a reason why he is still in a job, with Ibrox chiefs yet to speak out on his future.
As things stand, the 50-year-old will still be in charge for Sunday’s Scottish Premiership clash with Hearts.
Philippe Clement still in charge at Rangers
Clement has rightly been heavily criticised for a number of decisions made of late, including numerous in the infamous loss to Queen’s Park.
And one in particular irked former Rangers player Moore, as he felt Clement left youngster Bailey Rice “out to dry” by hauling him off during the embarrassing defeat.
Speaking on Go Radio, Moore said: “I felt that Bailey Rice was hung out to dry. He hadn’t done anything wrong in the game.
“I am sure he done exactly as expected in terms of his role. Screening the back four, getting on the ball when he could, playing the ball forward and keeping the ball within the team.
“There was a lack of energy throughout the whole team. For a young kid, it was an easy option to bring him off. “
Bailey Rice frustrated at Rangers
Barry Ferguson recently suggested Rice will be “frustrated” at Ibrox, having seen fellow youngster Lennon Miller flourish at Motherwell.

The start against Queen’s Park was Rice’s first of the campaign for Rangers but lasted just 45 minutes as he was taken off and replaced by Nico Raskin.
Clement’s decision has to be respected given he is the man in charge, but Moore is right in that Rice was by no means the Gers’ worst player on the field.
Rice has three substitute appearances to his name beyond the Queen’s Park outing, which is quite simply not enough for him to showcase his talents.
It may well be that he seeks a move away in the summer, whether permanently or on loan. The question now is whether Clement will still be at the Rangers helm come then.
If the majority of the fanbase’s opinion counts for anything at all, Clement would have been out of the job as soon as the full-time whistle sounded three days ago.
