Rangers ‘mind made up on Vaclav Cerny transfer’ after late approach

Rangers appear to have made a decision on whether to sign Vaclav Cerny permanently in the summer.

The Gers signed the Czechia international on loan from Wolfsburg in the summer and he has gone on to be an important cog in Philippe Clement’s side.

This has seen the winger score nine and assist two in just 20 starts for the Light Blues, but he looks set to return to the Bundesliga at the end of the season, such is the nature of a loan deal.

Now the Govan club seem to have made up their minds on whether to bring the forward in permanently once the campaign is over.

Rangers to make Vaclav Cerny transfer decision

Finances have regularly been a problem at Ibrox, which could make a deal for the former FC Twente ace difficult in the upcoming window.

It has been reported that the German outfit want around £8m for Cerny [Kicker], which may prove to be too much for the Gers to cough up.

As a result, new targets may be targeted before the summer market opens up and that appears to have already begun at the end of the winter.

A last-gasp enquiry was made to sign Monza forward Omari Forson in the final days of the January window, but the Serie A side refused any approach [Matteo Moretto].

The former Manchester United youngster could prove to be the alternative that the Light Blues need to replace their Czech star ahead of next season.

It doesn’t appear that the 20-year-old winger has taken to life in Italy as he would have hoped after featuring just seven times so far this campaign.

As a result, a return to the UK to play under Clement could be an attractive prospect as he looks to become a first-team regular after leaving Old Trafford.

Although an approach from the G51 club failed in the winter, a return bid when the window opens up again could test Monza’s resolve and they could then accept a bid.

It would then be interesting to see if the Englishman would move to Ibrox and become a regular if Cerny is to return to Wolfsburg.
