Ridvan Yilmaz twist emerges as another suitor wants Rangers transfer
Galatasaray have identified Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz as their primary transfer target, according to Taka Gazete.
The news outlet reports (5 February) that Okan Buruk, the Istanbul club’s manager, insists on strengthening the left-back position before the 11 February Turkish transfer deadline.
Buruk wants to sign a local player, and the Gers’ defender will be one of his main targets in the coming days to possibly return to his homeland.

Galatasaray join Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz transfer race
It isn’t surprising that Yilmaz has attracted interest in the winter transfer window, considering his uncertain situation at the Glaswegian outfit.
The Light Blues have relied heavily on Jefte at the left-hand side of the defence, leaving the Turkish defender on the peripheries of the squad.
Philippe Clement seems to have faith in the likes of James Tavernier and the Brazilian full-back in the backline, with Dujon Sterling also in the starting lineup before his injury.
Yilmaz has gained a bit of prominence in the team of late, though, with the defender being deployed at right-back and on the wing in recent matches.
Rangers arguably realise the importance of having a player like the 23-year-old in their squad as they look to compete in the Europa League and the Scottish Cup.

The Bears will evidently need a strong squad to compete in the two competitions, with the Scottish Premiership looking out of their hands.
While it would be surprising to see Yilmaz leave mid-season, his situation is worth monitoring.
