Philippe Clement ‘could walk out on’ Rangers after winter developments

Rangers were only able to secure one incoming throughout the winter transfer window and Philippe Clement could find himself questioning his future at Ibrox.

Aside from the signing of Rafael Fernandes, the Light Blues were eerily quiet in the transfer window and failed to take any opportunity that presented itself.

That window could get even worse if the Gers were to lose Ridvan Yilmaz to Galatasaray [Taka Gazete] with Turkish clubs able to deal until 11 February.

Whether that exit materialises or not, Clement will surely be feeling let down at Ibrox and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he starts to question his own future.

Could Philippe Clement quit Rangers?

Only a few months ago, if Clement was to leave Rangers it would have almost certainly been as a result of facing the sack but it could be a very different situation in the future.

Rangers have failed to back him in the window with a clear lack of quality and depth in various areas of the squad and the Belgian has effectively been left to hang out to dry.

Of course, if Rangers were to go on a dismal run now, Clement would face the overwhelming brunt of it when in reality, those above him should take far, far more of the blame.

If the Gers are to progress on the pitch, investment and quality need to be put into the squad which was seemingly not the goal in January.

People can only assume how Clement will feel about the situation, but it’s hard to imagine him being overly happy.
