Ianis Hagi one step away from Rangers exit
Ianis Hagi is one step away from leaving Rangers for Genoa in the next transfer window, according to Pescurt.
The Romanian news outlet reports (5 February) that Dan Sucu, the owner of the Italian club, hopes to sign the Ibrox playmaker next summer.
Hagi’s current Gers contract expires at the end of the season, and the 26-year-old could cost the Serie A outfit £5.8million in apparent wages and other fees.
Ianis Hagi transfer set from Rangers
The 26-year-old has emerged as one of the most influential players at Ibrox in recent weeks after being frozen out of the team at the start of the season.
Philippe Clement endured a poor start to the campaign, but ever since the Romanian star’s inclusion, the Glaswegian outfit’s fortunes have slowly turned.
The midfielder scored a brace as the Light Blues beat Ross County 4-0 at home on Sunday (2 February).
Not only has the playmaker contributed with goals and assists, but his inclusion in the starting lineup has also led to better football played by the Bears.
Rangers fans will want their team to secure Hagi’s future, considering the impact he’s had, and one can’t blame them for wanting that sooner rather than later.

The Light Blues will not only lose a quality player but also the chance to recoup some money if he leaves as a free agent.
It would make sense to agree to a new deal with the 26-year-old and cash in on him at the end of the upcoming campaign if he wants out.
While the Glaswegian outfit may not have the necessary means to pay over the top, Hagi’s emergence as an essential player should give them some leverage in negotiations to convince him to stay and become a hero at Ibrox.
