Rangers reject late bid for ‘another star’ with Patrick Stewart involved
Rangers rejected bids for two key players on transfer deadline day as Patrick Stewart was determined to keep them, according to The Scottish Sun.
The news outlet reports (4 February) that the Gers rebuffed approaches for Ridvan Yilmaz and another key player on the final day of the winter transfer window.
Stewart was keen on retaining players who played an essential role in the Light Blues’ qualification to the Europa League’s knockout stages.
Rangers reject transfer approaches for important stars
The Ibrox faithful will be glad to know that the Bears didn’t end up selling one of their best players in the winter window.
With the likes of Hamza Igamane lighting up the Scottish Premiership, it wouldn’t have been a surprise to see top teams wanting him sooner rather than later.
It’s encouraging to see the Glaswegian outfit keep their core group as they look to end the season on a high note, potentially with a trophy.
While the Light Blues will face challenges in winning the Europa League, progressing further in the competition will give them a much-needed financial boost.
Rangers are also still alive in the Scottish Cup and will play Queen’s Park at Ibrox in the fifth round of the completion on 9 February.

Some supporters wouldn’t have been bothered if someone like Cyriel Dessers had been sold, but the Nigerian striker’s importance is clearly evident after his recent performances.
The Gers lack depth in the number nine position with Danilo out, and the Brazilian’s consistent fitness issues make it essential for Philippe Clement to have more options.
With most of the squad still intact, it will be interesting to see what these players will be able to achieve in the current campaign.
In other Rangers news, Yilmaz could still leave until 11 February after a new transfer twist.
