Lyall Cameron signing: Update on if Rangers will push through deadline day deal

Rangers have agreed a pre-contract agreement with Lyall Cameron to join Philippe Clement’s squad in the summer, according to the Scottish Sun.

The news outlet’s website have reported (3 February) that the deal has been agreed on Deadline Day for Cameron to make the move ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Cameron, 22, will move to Ibrox at the end of this season when his current deal at Dundee expires, having played over 100 games at Dens Park.

The midfielder is a youth academy graduate of Dundee having moved from rivals Dundee United as a teenager, and he will join in a similar deal to that of Connor Barron from Aberdeen last season.

Rangers secure Cameron deal for summer

While it does often feel as if the food chain is in action when it comes to the Old Firm clubs cherry-picking the best up-and-coming talent from their fellow competitors in Scotland, it is an exciting move on offer for Cameron.

He has his future now secured and will continue to impress in a Dundee shirt, knowing the recognition, exposure and also scrutiny will be magnified tenfold when he switches to Ibrox.

The journey south to Govan will be a springboard for the young midfielder’s career, having gained an impressive level of experience for his age.

As for Rangers in the present, Nils Koppen is still leading a mission to attempt to strengthen further before the window slams shut on 11pm (3 February).

As of Monday afternoon, Rafael Fernandes’ loan from Lille is so far the only arrival to have taken place in the current window at Ibrox, with fans hoping for some deals to go through and to keep their best assets.
